Ball-Handling: The Living Room Routine
Great handles are built in boring places: hallways, garages, driveways. This routine is apartment-friendly (mostly) and needs a coffee-table's worth of space.
The routine (5 minutes)
- ✓Ball slaps and fingertip taps: 30 seconds, wakes up the hands
- ✓Ball wraps: around waist, head, and each leg, 20 seconds each direction
- ✓Figure 8s through the legs, no dribble: 1 minute
- ✓Kneeling dribble: pound dribble from knees, keeps it quiet and low, 1 minute each hand
- ✓Seated dribble: sitting on the floor, dribble beside each hip, 30 seconds a side
Level it up
Once clean, add a tennis ball: toss and catch with one hand while the other dribbles. It looks like a party trick; it's actually training eyes-up control, the thing that separates dribblers from players.
